I'm looking for opinions on the ground control spring perches (threaded, adjustable) that are offered for the mk3.

These are the ones that are added to shocks, not already a coilover set.

What are you trying to accomplish? As long as the spring does not move, which it should not if installed correctly and has a load.

I assume what you are trying to ask,
is about the coilover sleeve kits.

they are a threaded sleeve and spring that mates to a shock of your choice.

IMHO
all sleeve kits are garbage, but I know that GC sells different spring rates and heights of springs and if you have them properly matched w. good shock they could be a decent set up.

but by the time you spend like 300$ for the sleeve kit, and then another
3-500$ on the apropiate shocks, you are just shy of the amount for a good full coilover set up.

not realy worth it IMO.

The price of a coil over kit makes them obsolete. I can get you a set of coil overs for 785.00 shipped

I was looking for responses on quality of the sleeve over design, how tough it is, etc. I'd be using it w/ a Koni shock and compared to coilover setups that I would use, this would be cost effective (competition use, Looking at full ground control, or Zeal but can't justify cost yet)

Did they? Actually I was thinking Buddy Club when I wrote that. I'd look for a Ground Control setup but haven't seen one offered, I'd bet that's why.

Doc, opinions on "good" coilovers? I don't think most of sub $1k setups are going to be all that great for competition use.
