Greetings from North Dakota! I have a 1987 Supra with Turbo. Thing is I got it free! A guy who works with my dad had three of them and wanted to get rid of one. Thing is...he thinks its blown. Making noise in the lower end. This summer i want to take the engine out, check it out, and maybe install a new one. I love these Supras!

Just a heads up, I know a few things about cars, but certainly not close to the amount people on here know. So if some questions come up on the forum that might be kinda obvious to you, not so obvious on my end. Im not stupid when it comes to cars, but im not a genius.

Welcome to the site!

You should start a build thread on the car, and you can all the questions you want in there. You can voice your plans with the car, and get ideas from those who post. They can also stop you if they see you going wrong. This way, you don't post questions in the general area that have been seen hundreds of times. Or, use the search button before posting your questions. Sometimes it can be very helpful

Hey thanks for the advise guys! Fixitman04, I live in Mayville, about 30 miles south of Forks. I actually bought the car from a guy who lives in Grand Forks, but his shop is in Reynolds. I think i might start a build thread whenever i actually start working on the car....For now, here are some pictures.

Okay, i think i am going to resurrect the engine in it. If its rod knock, what i need to know is what/where can i get the parts i will need? Complete gasket set, rod bearings, etc. I am new to the rebuild engine thing and i need all the help i can get. I did do the search, but its hard to find exactly what your looking for. P.S. small budget in mind..But i do want Metal Head Gasket and Probably ARP Headbolts. The crank will be honed, and hopefully the pistons and bores are good.
