you have no idea weather or not i did most of those things with the car.. and i have only had time a few..i have barely driven the car, i drove it right after i did the first oil change so i could drain it agian, just got around to draining it agian today, iam a VERY busy person, the supra HAS been sitting in the garage, NOT driven except just to run the fresh oil through the motor..i have not had time to get it to a shop, or work on it myself,, you guys say jump on the problem ASAP! well for some people thats not possible, i'v only had a few short periods of time to do things like drain the oil, put in fresh, change the oil filter, and take off and clean up a few other parts here and there, and thats all i'v had time for. the car will be going to a toyota mechanic this coming week to get compression tested, oil completely flushed and so forth. if the HG is blown it will get replaced by a specialist. so you guys shouldnt be so quick to attack people. SM is has been a great place for people to give and recieve information, but you guys are giving some people second thoughts about coming here for advice by making jokes of other peoples serious problems. enough said.

...the car drives fine, no loss of power..

.. it idled better than it ever has, that was the first good sign.. second i drove the car to town which is like 7miles away, went to a car wash, washed the car,

lol.. not gona give her hell,,, just yet.. i just dont see how a car can have a BHG and drive this perfectly, my car is honestly driving and idleing better than it ever has.,, i think my car needed a new water pump, and on top of it i might have poured coolant in the oil.. lol i can only hope thats what it was,, cause i mean the coolant in the oil look perfectly green, you could see the oil and coolant seperate, not mixed.

suprafanatic said:
ya got the water pump fix, fresh oil in... no problems at all now. car drives great! No BHG from what im seeing

suprafanatic said:
well put..well put.. lol yes its my DD it would be a night mare to find it has a BHG, so im driving it slow for now, no problems at all are arising from driving normal. i have boosted it some and still no problems so i think we're pretty good.

The older guys will jump on you if you ignore anything they say or don't answer their q's directly.

This community is VERY helpful and just about the BEST resource available to any mkiii owner, IMO.

Get that oil flushed and have a pro look at it or get down and dirty and do a rebuild yourself. Either way, sounds like you're engine will be toast very soon unless someone properly addresses its problems.

Yeah if you arnt sure whats going on and don't have time to dig in yourself I would suggest taking it to a professional to have it looked at. They will probably charge a little bit but its well worth it in my opinion. When I was having some wierd problems with my car I had it taken to a local shop to have it looked at, no serious problems but a few little ones that were fixed, didnt cost me much but I'm glad I went none the less.

keep us updated.

I would like to hear the verdict.

if you did mix coolant in the oil...... that sucks, but you have to move on

it was a bonehead move, but stupid things happen sometimes

Nate...

I was mistaken. I thought you had flushed out your oil acouple times before today/yesterday.

Just let it sit until you have to take it to Toyota...A proper and thorough flush, Keep your fingers crossed.

There's no doubt it's done damage just with running Coolant through there like that...but miracles and a little bit of luck happen every once in a great while with these cars. ;)

Keep us posted...

ok question then.... i dont have the money for the shop to replace the head gasket,, should i just let my car sit untill i have the money then just take it and leave it with the shop to fix it all? or should i take it to the shop, let them compression test it, then go from there? cause i'll just be driving it back home then back to a shop agian when i do get the money. so what do i do?

Change the oil again(as recommended by JDub, our local MOTOR OIL and LUBRICANTS EXPERT), then get a block test kit from Napa and test it yourself.

You sound like a young guy ....... You need to learn how to work on your car. Most if not all older performances car will eat your college money up really quick. Then you will start to cheap out things you shouldn’t, then you will start to hate the car because it spends more time being broken the actually driven. Parts are the cheapest things in the equation, but labor dollars are going to kill you I think most shops are charging $60-$80 an hour for labor.

I m sure a decent mechanic can work a "modded car" I am sure they can remove and replace most things, but the question is can they follow Toyota's specs. You wont know if people around Mattoon IL will be willing to work on your “modded” car until you ask around.....

Yeah I was lucky and made a good friendship with a real good local shop thats way to high class for the area I live in. They charged me like $15 an hour for labor and did a awesome job...

All I did was start hanging out with the local guys in my area that had nice modded cars and they seem to know all the local shops that do good work or are willing to help out if you need it so I suggest trying to do the same in your area.

all i gotta say is if you own a supra you must be committed. No 20 year old car is gonna run flawlessly. And if you don't want to make time to work on your car please sell it and buy a newer car with little maintenance. I understand your trying to find time, but seriously take a week off from w/e and do what u gotta do. You'll learn alot and learn to appreciate you car much more. Treat your car right and it will treat you the same way in return.

On a side note i do not trust ANY shop with my car. The only people i trust is myself and the helpful people on these forums. I haven't seen any shops dedicated to work on these cars to know enough about them.

BTW it seems like your only 1 year younger than me. Trust me i know how hard it is to find time to work on my car i go to college too and work full time. Right now is winter break so take a week off and do what u gotta do. I actually just did just that. Good luck
