the rs comes from greddy on the softest settings. you slowly tighten the screw to remove stalling or idle issues. you will get surge if it is too tight. stock turbo stock boost you shouldn't be full hard. the more boost you run the more you tighten the screw.

I only get slight surge at low boost and it blows off at full boost.

loosen it a lil then. when properly adjusted it should not surge. make sure your car is hot before boosting too.

i have a greddy type-s and mine is louder under normal driving conditions then boosting.

It would help if I had a picture of somebody's whose is properly tuned for stock turbo and stock boost. How many threads should be showing?

You pretty much have it set man, just loosen it a little bit, compressor surge is unnacceptable.

But someone said that I should have slight surge at low boost and blow off at full boost.

It seems to run better when set pretty hard, the rpm's never dip. When set soft, it feels like it's gonna die, but never does.
