How fast were you hit? I fear the worst for the frame...:(
Hopefully, it's nothing worth totaling out. That's a beautiful car to go to waste.

I've always loved the tan interior.

[Dream setup to be black interior with accenting tan leather (seats, panels, et cetera).] :)

Hope it turns out for the better.
If not, Hope you get plenty of money to compensate for your loss.

its not that bad at least. i owned my supra for about 23 minutes when a civic rear ended me. it destroyed the civic, and just chipped a piece of paint off my bumper...did you get the guys insurance info? will this be covered?

Not too bad from what I can see. Charge his insurance provider for a band new rear bumper and reinforcement from Toyota and then just source a good used one from another car. Might make a few bucks.

any wrinkles on the rear quarter panels? If the gap between the hatch and quarter opened up, chances are some deformation of the rear bodywork occurred. How are the door gaps? Targa still come out easily?

Exactly this.
To most that are unfamiliar with frame/chassis reconstruction,
From the cover, looks like the damage is minimal...
Yet if anything gave-in during impact, could be a "totaled" car
by the estimated cost of repair.

Hope for the best. :(

Yea I know what that's like..I got rear ended in my Honda and it just looked like the bumper had a big dent. But then I noticed big creases in the quarter panels. Had to stick it on a frame machine and then shrink the qp metal.

Sorry to see your car get hit. I was rear ended in my 86.5 about 4 years ago. It scratched my bumper and cracked one of my taillights, but the fender on the lady's Lumina was pushed back into the door so far that it wouldn't open.
