So heres the deal, I got a block from the junk yard off a turbo supra 7MGTE that Im going to have reconditioned at a machine shop, and then rebuild. I get the thing home and take the oil pan off to inspect the crank, bearings and bore. Come to fine out there are NO oil Jet's on the block! (mind you this is definitely a turbo block, it has a oil feed and return line for the turbo which are defiantly from the factory) what is the deal here? Is this a specific model, year or factory defect. Should i discontinue this build and obtain another block that has oil squirters? to my knowledge I thought that all 7MGTE had oil jets. :aigo:

Any info or insight would be great, Thanks guys.

Early model blocks didn't have them. I forget the cutoff year. You could certainly drill and tap the block for them, the sprayers aren't that expensive.

It would cost a fortune to mill, drill, and tap the pocket out for squirters....they aren't a big deal and you'll be just fine without them.

im pretty sure most blocks by 88 had them if not by 89 when they switched to the stronger block i would think they all did.

you will be fine with out them and in fact with out them at the point when they open you will have more pressure to your bearings with out them.

Oil squirters are listed for all North American 7MGTE blocks starting 08/86 and ending 05/1993.

They don't' seem to be listed for 08/86 to 08/87 7MGTE blocks outside of NA.

my 88.10 block has them eng no round 110,000? it has a 7m crank and is 89+ spec

my early 7mgte block sitting under my house has no squirters, and a 6m crank, its engine number 1100 something,

i'm sure the squirters help cool the pistons and reduce the chance of detonation on stock cast pistons.

im not sure id go to the lengths of finding a new block for the squirters however.

my 88 block had them.

not having squirters is NOT an issue.... in fact it will help keep your oil pressure higher without them.

make sure you run better than stock pistons though, to help with the heat they are gonna see... and be sure that the tune is accurate when your breaking it in, otherwise you could see a much higher temp than you may have wanted to see on the pistons
