I'm working on doing a wright up. I did the SOGI Fog light rewire long ago so no problem with them turning on. Also I did the Rewire with relay & it really brightened the fogs up. When I switched out to HIDs they still work well. I now have the JDM Yellow lens & may swith them out for OEM Projector Fogs for better light pattern.

Yea..Do the rewire Dan Stern Style...And Aim/Adjust the fogs. Looks like they are aimed down. You will have to work & shim the fog light mounting bracket. I'll get some night shots sometime. Mine project & spread out quit a bit more but with Lexus,Nissan etc OEM Projector lens I expect to see much better results. My 07 Optima Has Fog light Projectors & they work really great with the HID headlamps.

How do you do the "Dan Stern Style" rewire? I've read about doing the foglight rewire, never got around to doing it and didn't see the purpose for me.

Mine are pre89 so they have a different beam pattern, thats prolly why they look different, without the headlights on they look like this.

IIRC pre-89's don't run blinders.

Anyone know of any car that runs HID projector fog lamps? I DON'T want to use craptastic rebased HID's ever again...

SOGI Fog light Rewire is to run the Fogs separate from the head light.

Daniel Stern Rewire is for Head lights &/or Fogs. Beefs up the wiring adds a 30 amp relay & inline fuse. This will make stock lights brighter & allow you to run higher wattage bulbs in properly done H4 set ups. Link below

JDMMA70 - See what ya mean.. Wow it really washes them out. Are you using 55W Ballast?

Poodles- No OEM HID Fog/Driving light I know of. Why not use a HELLA D2S HID headlight projector housing like KeithH posted or e46 ECE Projectors. I would customize the shield so that its flat. HID Planet has info & how to do it.

Yea, having to run the fogs with the headlight is not a big deal to me but brighter lights is always nice. I read the link but nowhere in it does it show how do to it. Nice wheels btw, I like your taste:icon_wink

Ive seen both JDM and Euro fogs fun with blinders in the Pre89 and without them. Mine have the capsules with the blinders, ive seen or heard of some without them not sure which is authentic though *shrug*

My ballast is part of a slim kit i think its a 55W kit, not entirely sure ill have to check when its brighter outside.

I took a better picture tonight, (this is also for anyone wanting to go 8000K dont this is about as much light as youre going to get.

It's just trying to seal a headlight projector for use as a foglight...

I've found capsules for HID's to change the color to yellow as there aren't any good OEM 3000K bulbs out there.

I won't touch chinese crap again...

I loved my HID fogs, until the cheap ballasts crapped out...

(it was a cheap point and shoot cam, bad for taking pics of light and they really didn't blind this much and they actually looked yellow, easier to see on the ground in the pic)

I havent been in a car with HID foglights yet, ive tested my halogens out in the fog and they work pretty well for being halogens, i wish someone had a comparison pic of beam pattern with halogen vs hid in the foglamps.

They were the same, wide and flat, I've reverted back to halogens but would like the HID fogs again (they worked GREAT in the fog).

Blinders had to be removed, I made new ones to fit the HID bulbs as direct viewing of the bulb is terrible LOL
