Looks like pitting that was't fully removed from the resurfacing.

If it doesn't lay on the gasket surface or sealing ring (lay the head gasket on it and it will be obvious), I'd say it's alright as it doesn't look like much.

i took it to the machine shop today the machinist said if he tried to level it off it he woud take off too much material and its not worth it because it dosent affect anything ..i think i will try to level it off with some jb weld?

Does any part of it touch the ring around the MHG that goes around the combustion chamber? (Lay/line up the MHG on the head)

You can create a high spot...getting it level will be very difficult to do on a machined surface.

After 3 weeks, the shop may claim its not their fault. But take a HG and see if the cylinder sealing bead is outboard of the notch. If so, you should be able to use it as is if no other damage is present. If the bead sits on the notch, then you have a problem.

if it's in the combustion chamber as it appears to be, JB weld isn't going to hold and when it falls off it's not going to be a good thing...

make a aluminum spot weld on the surface of the notch and then tell the shop to resurface that spot weld until its level with the rest of the head??

If the sealing ring of the gasket doesn't touch the pitted spot, you will not have a problem. DO NOT USE JB WELD! It wouldn't work well anyway, and that spot is too close to the combustion chamber to be safe. Since your using a graphite gasket, it will be more tolerant of minor low spots than a MHG. I would recommend using Permatex Copper Spray a gasket on the HG, as this will improve sealing as well, and is OK to use with a graphite gasket. I'm using it to replace the damaged viton on my used HKS Stopper, And I've had excellent results using it in other instances.

LOL. yes. you should forget the jb weld idea. it doesn't belong anywhere near an engine build.

the only place that shit is good for is a cracked case on bikes. i have had one crack hold for 2 years until i sold the thing.

Dude - How many times/ways do you need to be told: DO NOT USE JBWELD.
