ok, gas petal problem....I have recently started driving the supra again as the snow and cold weather is gone, and have had a TPS problem and finally found one, got it calibrated and on.... but now when driving it runs better but when I have my foot barly on or not at all on the gas petal the rpms drops ~1.3k but then when i start to ease on the gas again it wants to jump and take off when i barley press. could this possibly mean that my accel. cable is a little too tight? or maybe the dash pot on the TB needs to be ajusted? any help would be great.

The dash pot should have no impact. Cable could be too tight or you have binding in the linkage. Have someone step on the gas while you take a look at it under the hood.

Sure you got the TPS adjusted correctly?

yea, this time im 99% sure its right, I put the feeler gauge inbetween the throttle stop screw, and waited till I got infinity between the E2 and IDL then tightened down the screws. I might of messed with the accel. cable at some point I don't remember since Ive been changing things all winter. Is there a specific ammount of play the cable should have?

I can't remember if the TRSM list that or not...I've always just made sure the linkage relaxes full travel with the gas pedal up. I leave just enough slack in the cable to where the pedal barely moves with my foot on it, just as a bit of feedback feel for my foot.

The cable has a spec for adjustment too. And BTW, a petal is something that a flower or plant has. Your car has a pedal.

Check the wiring and voltage at +B and +B1 at the ECU, with the ignition turned to the on position. It could be a bad ignition switch, main relay (as the TSRM says) or wiring.

It can be a John Deere relay as long as it is a standard relay with 85 and 86 as the control portion and 87, 87A, and 30 as the switched portion.
