I've done some searches and still have a question. My 87 has a one piece aluminum drive shaft. I have a vibration ( you can't really feel it but you can hear it ) that starts around 40 MPH or so. It's NBD but I got up to 100-120 ( on a very lonley stretch of road ) and the vibrations got alot more noticable. Around 80 or so it was bad enough I couldn't see out my mirrors. It gradually got worse as the speed increased, not enough to be scarey just very annoying. I have also noticed that the is a slight clunk when I first put it in gear either 1st or reverse. So could it be the drive shaft or a bad U joint causing all the vibrations? Any help would be awesome. Thanks

First off, most 1 pc Aluminum DS's are not rated for 120+ so be careful with that.

Things that come to mind that could cause what you're describing:

Bad U-Joint(s)
Un-Balanced DS
Un-Balanced Tire(s)
Bent Wheel(s)
Broken Trans Mount
Broken Motor Mount

That's all I can think of at the moment...
