and now four on the same map...

I see 5?!
Gustav, Hanna (isn't that one supposed to hit Florida?), then a lil front southwest (or is that part of Hanna?), bigger one west (tho that one looks like it might go north and just turn into a big storm or something), the fifth one looks promising already tho.

Good luck to all affected by Gustav.

Guys, wave three is an upper level storm. Conditions aren't right (yet) for it to become a major nasty.

Hanna's looking like she might skirt the east coast of Florida. Here in North Central, we don't usually get the full brunt that you guys on the coast get!

Everyone stay safe. Going to be interesting to see what Gustav does in the next 24-48.

Well, I have a neighbor that I don't know very well. He is supposedly the owner of the internet's most successful pay weather site. I was just outside talking with neighbors and putting up some boards on a neighbors house, when the guy came over and shared some info.

He said that the latest update he got had the storm taking a more northerly move and aiming it at the mouth of the Mississippi River. That puts the storm more towards Mississippi with the West side hitting N.O, and it will get it closer to me and Noah and George if he never got out. He did say that one update is just a minor shift but two would be a trend. The news still shows it going straight to New Orleans. That still puts the MS. coast on the bad East side, and my Al coatsline just east of that. What he said most people don't realize, is that the mouth of the Mississippi comes way out below Ms and almost to the Ala line. If that notherly jolt turned due north from the mouth, Mobile could get the worst of it.

Now on to T.S Hanna. His prediction for that storm is the Georgia coast.

I've talked with Noah and George. George is going to be at my house in the morning. Noah is with his dad and uncle at his house. He's close to the beach so I'm hoping for the best for him. They do have transportation though.

Noah is VERY close to the water. Jay, when is George leaving? Our news showed it taking 4 hours to get from Greenville to Montgomery. I have not gone towards the interstate at all today. My town has been covered in travelers. I don't know exactly how crowded those roads are today. The last I heard, they haven't turned I-65 into all Northbound lanes, but maybe they will soon.

Scott, George is at a hotel in Starkville Missssssisssssippppppi. He is going to drive the rest of the way in the morning. The traffic wore him out he said. It took him four hours to drive one hundred miles earlier today.

I'll be saying a prayer for all of the people on the coast.

Thanks for that link Dave. I'm looking at nothing more than 55mph gusts here now. I'll sleep much easier now.

Gautier,Ms - gusts as high as 70mph.......not even hurricane force. I hope the the storm surge doesn't get bad enough there to bother Noah.

Diamondhead, Ms - George's homeland.......gusts just barely to hurricane strength with gusts up to 75mph. I think he's either just above I-10 or right below it. Storm surge shouldn't bother him I don't think.

Don't forget Justin727 and Carlos Estrella are on the Ms coast as well. I don't know where either of them live exactly, but I think Justin is well north of I-10. Carlos may be far enough west in Ms to have problems. I will be praying for him and the folks of New Orleans and surrounding areas.

What I listed was the highest forecast gusts. Highest sustained winds will be lower than that. The storm packs winds of 115 sustained. I have not seen a forecast for gusts on it. They will be in excess of 115. Don't forget though, the possibility for tornadoes is highfrom N.O. to probably Pensacola. The East side is always the worst.

I went out today and took pics at the beach, while Gustav was still relatively near us... normally the water here is crystal clear blue with 6" waves if that, heh
