Hello all, i recently did a 7mgte swap on my supra and i am likeing the new engine! I ran a cheap cone filter for a few days before i got my stock airbox setup, and i really like the factory filtering ability, as i know a lot of aftermarket filters are known for not filtering too well, but all the sound from the turbo is now gone! I was wondering if there are any quality performance filters that will bring the turbo sound back, while still properly cleaning the air.

AEM dryflow, and Apexi are two of my favorites. Both filter very well. Stay away from K&N.

Just wondering, Why exactly?

K&N use oil. It's a wet filter. That oil along with small dirt and debris particles flow through the filter and into the AFM, which uses a mirror and optical measurement which need to stay VERY clean.

Oil/dirt/debris on mirror makes for poor measurements and that mirror is not exactly something you can windex back to "new" condition.

i dont know why you guys are getting so amped up against k&n. they filter just fine, and the only oil issue in the afm i've ever heard of is when people over oil it. don't have the afm any more, but i did for nearly 9 yrs and never a problem.

I use the generic pep boys Spectre filters and they have been great so far lol Just a basic cotton/steel mesh filter that looks nice and has always seemed to work for every vehicle I have. As far as filtration capability, I do not know the quality difference between this and any brand names...
