Going 1JZ in my 89

NICE harness strategy! Damn right I'll run it that way! I have some old 2-way connectors that I can play with to get that connection run right. Could I also take this opportunity to weld up my old EFI harness hole? I still have to run some wiring through there (stereo) but it's much smaller than the EFI harness.

You need to run your 2 wires going to your heater control valve through the old efi only 2 wires.

The way my current supra setup is I am running those two wires BUT I ran my windshield wiper wires through there AND my aftermarket wideband O2 sensor through the old EFI harness firewall opening.

I then Resealed up all the old holes.

You keep the exsisting harness unhacked by making the speedo hole larger anything from 2" - 2 1/2" is perfect. break the plastic harness guide or cut it the guide on the back of the plenum that drives the harness upwards.

You put the engine in then pull the harness streight in the car gently and route it behind the radio to the glove box then you mount your ECU in the glove box area but instead of facing it to the front of the car you face it to the driverside of the car by switching brackets around and sides they are on.

ECU mounts in factory location the wires reach!
You attach your small 2 wire connector going to the heater control switch to you jumper harness and the you run that out your old efi through hole.

That's a very nice idea!
I have had my 1.5jz out for a rebuild, but haven't put the intake on yet. I'll do this just to clean up the engine bay and also the loom doesn't have to go through the hot turbo side of the engine bay.
