I have thought about this, I like the turbo 350, I just wanna know how complicated this swap is, any links for parts? Who has done it, would you do it again?

Look up Best Transmissions, in Springfield Mass. Ask for Shaun. He can sell you a crossplate to fit the TH-350 to the 7M-GTE, and if your close enough he might even do the whole service for you.

Also note this is the same Shaun Alexander that was on Pinks with an 87 7m-gte with a TH-350 on it.

EDIT: BEST TRANSMISSIONS INCORPORATE 413-736-9496

Just got off the phone with shawn, and he said that the adapter plate is 300 beans, and it does use the stock flywheel and all that, and he makes the Driveshaft as well for it to all hook up and work great.

Im kinda curious about this too. Would you need to mess with the ecu at all if it were a manual? How bad would it be to hook up the shift linkages, I would guess somone like hurst or B&M would have a universal kit for that tranny that would make it easier?

My next step. :)

good info about the plate.

Np m8. I don't know to much, but what I do know I offer it up freely to help others.

As far as a picture of the plate, I personally don't have one but if you call shawn I'm sure he would email you a pic or two, as well as explain the question about the maual aspect. but as far as I know I thought the TH-350 was only an auto, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Also I'll answer a question some of you might be thinking of. No the TH-400 won't fit because the tranny or the bellhousing or something is too big to fit in without fabrication (mind you anything can be done with fabrication and lots of money). This is what and how shawn explained it to me when i asked about the 400.

As far as the ECU goes he didn't mention anything about having to fool with it if you change over. as long as you use his plate and drive shaft, it should be pretty much plug and play.

Hope this helps answer of of yous alls questions. :)
