lol 400+hp DD? have fun at the gas station

Haha, yes I have to admit that I do spend some time there.. It is a good idea to figure how much you are going to be driving before you decide on any car with 400hp. I dont have to drive every day. I get to work at home sometimes. I do spend about 40.00 per week in gas. Sometimes more sometimes less.. thats not that bad right?? Its a small price to pay to enjoy getting in the supra every time I need to go somewhere. :)

Supra - Just turn down the boost for weekly driving, turn it up for the fun times. 10psi daily, 20psi on the track was my thoughts.

Mustang- Fuel injection conversion kit, its 2600 from summit racing and i love fuel injection, and it should make the 302 fairly gas friendly...

And 400HP is just a number... Maybe more, maybe less... Just dont want a 150hp honda.. know what i mean? And i have no problem driving easy... espeically if i get an auto mustang or an auto supra... Im just conflicted between the supra and mustang.

And i'll be going to school at American River college to get a welding degree, so i want something i can make some custom parts for it, and get class credit... so the supra would be PERFECT for that.

unless you are rich, dont drive far, or just dont give a crap, a MKIII Supra isnt the best choice for a DD. Especially in a hot climate and stop and go...you are just asking for problems and high gas costs

Valid point!

A 400HP stang would drink way more gas than a 400HP Supra. The supra gets there via the turbo that is not always sucking gas, while the 400HP stang is all gas guzzling motor.

Please explain why a ls2 GTO get's 26 MPG on the freeway.

gas is Irrelevant.... i dont see why everybody is so concerned with it, if i wanted a gas saver i would go get a lame ass honda... and a supra on the high way cruising at 70mph probably gets pretty decent milage... especially since it has a lower diff gearing...

and to me, a rebuilt supra motor is a really reliable engine... especially if you take care of it, my supra has been pretty good to me, its a non turbo... but it has over 180K on the body now... soooo yeah. My friend isnt as lucky as me with his eclipse....

I had a 1990 Talon, and it was the biggest piece of shit I have ever owned. Also, the 7M-GTE is not nearly as unreliable as people make it out to be.... I have had NO problems with mine, all it takes is some maintenance every now and then. You're right:

My Idea of a DD is cheap on gas but not a geo metro. If you want to stay Toyota loyal go with a MR2 or a Corolla. Other cheep on gas rides that dont suck ass are Civic, Accord, or Eclipse. I would have to say Hondas do best on gas and usualy run 300+k before giving up the ghost. DSMs like the eclipse gsx have reliability issues but are fun and usualy quick. I personaly want a 94-97 prelude sh as my next DD.

A car capable of 400HP does not necessarily ride around at 400 HP all day. In fact, there are probably quite a few 400 HP cars on SM that are daily driven. My car will soon be tuned, and hopefully I will be one of those cars.

Quoted for truth.

Back when, I always used to think it meant, "Quit F*cking Talking"....

Everytime I got that response...I took offense. Everyone was confused by my actions. :biglaugh:

If you're daily driving one of these 3 cars...

Well.
No.

But if I HAD to daily drive one...Of course, Supra.

(Remember what community you're asking BTW...This *IS* Supramania)...

haha, i know your point jeff. But supramania is one of the most diverse forums i've EVER been on... nobody is 100% close minded. everybody is very open to everybody elses opinion. Now... the DSM Fourms... lets say i dont EVER go there unless my friends need help. haha.

And Forced understands what i mean about th 400HP, i want that "on tap" when i want it/need it.... doesnt mean i'll be pushing that on the street everyday.... no need too.
