(FYI, I drive a 1987 NA manual with 200k+ miles and a never-been-cleaned intake.)
So, I was sitting at a light waiting to get on the highway, and I had the window down. I was playing the stereo moderately loud, because once I'm on the highway the road noises and the Supra's own noise goodness force me to. =) Anyway.
A Nissan 240SX (older, '90 or so, paint wasn't in the best condition) pulled up in the lane next to mine. The driver gave me an odd look, revved a bit (it didn't sound any better than stock), and then cranked up his own music (repetitive rap, ugh). I decided not to react, 'cause that would just be silly. His music finally got turned down a bit, and, since the light still hadn't turned, cranked the volume up again after changing the song to Outkast. I felt so intimidated. (Or, you know, not.)
Light turns green. For the heck of it, I decide to take off. The other guy didn't get as good a start, and sounded like he had trouble getting going, like he was surprised a girl would do something like that. (For the record, getting onto the freeway from a dead stop is one of my favorite things to do in the Supra as long as there isn't too much traffic. =P) He tried to catch up, but it totally didn't happen. I would have pulled away completely if it hadn't been for the massive amount of cars on the highway. *sigh*
I love my Supra. =)
