gillberjj i dont think your greddy manifold will work with the hpf down pipe with out some modifications to the dp.

ya, im selling the hpf manifold cause its brand new, and useing the greddy manifold. i had to make some pie cuts to the dp, and mp to make it all work, but its all in now and fits real well. im happy with it, and it sounds incredible. rsr ftw

alright folks..... an update:

the car has been giving me problems. it was running great and then in the middle of a pull it got sluggish ran like crap, and i glanced at the af ratio and it was in the 17:1 range! YIKES. i instantly let out. the car started running like crap, so long story short, i found out that i had blown the vaccuum line off the fuel pressure regulator. in the process of getting that figured out and running lean all the time, i think it ruined my spark plugs. now when i boost the car, it starts popping and sputtering at high rpms. the more boost, the more sputtering. could a lean mixture of knocking cause the plugs to go bad. right now the car is outside cooling down, and then im going to throw in some new plugs. i really want to go racing tonight. cross my fingers i guess

well, almost a month later and here is how the car sits. i have a thread explaining that i went to the track and the clutch didn't hold, and my fuel pump went out. letting out a little way down the track i ran a 13.7. that run was on 15-16 psi and i know with that amount of boost with a good launch i could easily run a low 12. the car pulls real nice. hopefully ill be getting a refund for my clutch. ill probably try the action clutch again, but i can't afford to have it slip again. im hoping this clutch can hold my power. aaron has been pretty good about communicating with me.

The problem with the clutch was as soon as the car was done it went out for immediate 18-30psi pulls and drag racing, that's not a proper 500 mile break in. Low boost and 500 miles of normal city driving is what the clutch needed for break in. Driving on the freeway to the track is no break in at all. You need the friction from stop and go type driving. Like we talked about on the phone, if it only slipped one time it might be ok with some more miles on it. If it glazed over badly then it will probably need to come out and get shipped back to me. It is relatively inexpensive to have the pucks replaced ($70), I'll take care of that as warranty. On the pp I'll have to see it first, it can probably fixed. If you want to pay a little extra I can have a dual diaphram pp made for you which will give you more clamping force for drag racing. With a 2800lb pp and 500+ whp the break in is critical. The surfaces of the pp, disk, and flywheel having full contact is very important. If only half the surface is broken in it will only handle half the power.

working on getting the clutch out right now. i am 300 miles from my car so I'm having a guy do it! I can't take not driving my car anymore. i hope this gets done soon! im trying to sell some stuff to aid my problems! aaron at driftmotion is being great, and communicative. ive done a lot of business through him and will continue to do so.

hey hey all 3 of you watching my build thread ;) the clutch is out of my car and it slipped real bad. the rivits on the pucks were blue from heat, and it only slipped once or twice. maybe im putting down more power than i thought. i never ran the car over 16 psi. during the day, it was more like 15 psi. im sending the pp and clutch disk down to cali to get re-pucked, and i don't know what im going to do about a new pp. my old one might be fine, but i don't know. im thinking about getting a dual diaphram like aaron was talking about two posts up. i might also swap to a stiffer pp from another company. either way, im having serious withdrawls from not driving my car. i really want to drive my car within two weeks!
also, i bought a 3.5" flex pipe for my downpipe so my nice greddy manifold doesn't get cracked. i see it as a small investment to save my beautiful manifold.
when i know more, ill post it, and i promise to post vids when i get my car together!

ok........ here's the deal, i sold my precision 61mm, and i bought a mp t70. I've heard only good things about them, and it should increase hp. I was REALLY impressed with the way the 61mm spooled (it was FAST for a large single). I really don't think the minimal extra lag of the 70mm turbo will bother me. Plus i go some cams to help this bigger turbo breathe at the top end. here are some pics, ive already posted them on another thread, but hey, this is MY build thread, so i can do whatever i want. here are the specs on the cams

I also got my new pressure plate in a couple days ago. its an act extreme pressure plate, hopefully that will hold the power im going to throw at it. I think my new biggest problem is not having enough fuel. I'll probably throw on an in-line walbro. who knows. I need to make this motor last, cause im probably going to go 2j in less than 2 years. i doubt this motor will last that long, but ill keep the boost conservative and hopefully drive it until i have the money to go with a 2j swap!

here is a rundown of what work will be happening to my car this weekend, and the next week. but FIRST, if you don't already shop at driftmotion, this is why you should, aaron bought me a new disk $125ish, and an act extreme pp $359ish because the action sg3 didn't work out for me. If that isn't standing by your products, I don't know what is! He has my business, and I'll refund him for the hassle and money in the future for sure. Ill be going jz in the future, and even if i don't, ill buy every part i can through his shop. His customer service is awesome, and every time i call, he picks up. so.... thank you aaron, and you definetly have my business.
ok, back to my build
I ordered a ss braided and cnc return line kit for my turbo, and that should be arriveing today, as well as the action sg 3 disk. That will be everything I need to put the tranny back up. The turbo doesn't arrive till monday, but I have plenty to do in the meantime. So, in review... I need to...
relocate my ps resivoir and run lines to it,
put on the new turbo,
put in the cams,
Put in the new clutch and pressure plate,
and get my flywheel resurfaced!

oh, and take pics too!

alright UPDATE TIME: my car is getting really close to being done. the cams are in and it looked like there was too much space inbetween the buckets and the cams, but i check the specs and im right in the middle...... scary though. i was just about done, but i decided while everything is out, and the turbo is new, im going to ceramic coat everything. it'll cost me around $50, and I'll finish my car for sure thanksgiving weekend or sooner. Im going to ceramic coat everything black, and by everything i mean......
manifold and riser
downpipe (can i coat the flex pipe?)
turbine houseing
and maybe wastegate.... not sure yet, im going to post a thread about this
and maybe the upper intercooler pipe
the clutch is going in tomorrow and the ps is hopefully getting put on by the end of the week..... cross your fingers
