Ok... in high school i drove like 3 different dodge omnis. Im looking at a dodge omni glh-t. Its a 1985 turbo dodge omni glh. Has 57k on the clock and looks mint. I think i can get it for around 2500 bucks or so... anyone know how hard it is to find decent aftermarket for these cars? This car is not intercooled and makes 146hp. I have the old supra i/c off my 87 turbo.. im planning on making some pipes and intercooling it with that for now..

if anyone has any experiences with these and wants to help me out please do so...

thanks..

Someone needs to say it.

A car that was nice when you were in High School isn't neccesarily going to work as well now.

For example... I used to own an old Dodge Dart. Slant six engine, the thing was tougher than a two dollar steak and ran forever without any maintenance. Recently, a buddy of mine who used to drive the sister car to mine, found one for sale and told me about it. He picked it up, thinking he was going to get another bulletproof car like the ones we used to drive and beat on.

What a huge mistake. These things are just TOO old now. Finding parts isn't as easy, as the junkyards have mostly tossed them in the steel plants by now, and the dealerships can't find parts for them unless you have the high zoot V8 engines that the collectors are rebuilding. Virtually everything on this thing was worn out, and the little details that really didn't bother us back then - like leaky windshield seals, oilpans, and squeaky wheel bearings - are a much bigger deal when you have a wife riding with you to the supermarket, instead of 3 drinking buddies who are going camping with nothing but beer as supplies.

Shit, man - I hope this doesn't happen with our Supras one day.

Ugly, but the engine looks similar to the Dodge Daytona Turbo Z C/S I had in highschool.

Im not new to this forum either... i just havent been on since it changed over to this newer version. I need a daily driver that is fun to drive. I thought that would make a good car minus the hella queer fog lights...

If you want a good daily driver then buy a conquest tsi or starion esir for that price plus also look ten times better. I own a conquest and is fun and looks sweet look for it in the off topic section under no-supra ride for sale. I'm only selling to fund my supra project so HOLLa, HOLLA :evil2:

Omni GLH would be a cool car to have IMO. Swap in a motor from a Spirit R/T (The 2.2L DOHC 16-valve, intercooled version of the engine already in the car, that has 230hp stock. :))

I'd love one. They're old and ugly, but they're still somewhat cool, heh. My friend and I wrecked on a couple winters ago. Got it for $100. :) (Not a GLH).
