Hey guys, as you may know already, I am a fabricator making some parts for the 7M. I myself bought a 86.5T Supra a while back with a rod knock (a bad one at that) Anyways, it seems to be a fairly common problem, I am no rocket scientist, but I am a fabricator. Here is my idea for a solution let me know if you guys have an interest....

How about I make a Oil pan with about an extra court oil capacity, and add some baffling to it? Would help tremendously for drifting!!! Will keep the oil at the pick-up instead off sloshing around.

I could build from aluminum or steel.

Let me know your ideas, what you would like to see (if I do it) Does someone else already make these? If so who, how much?

How much would you being willing to pay for one? remember a product like this could possibly keep you from a early (unplanned) rebuild...or worse :)

i think dr jones modifies stock pans... or maybe it's shaeff, i forget, not sure how much it costs.

something i think you could fabricate a lot of people would be interested in, a nice aluminum undercover that's sturdy and bolts to factory mounts. not sure how much something like that would cost to ship though.

Dr. J modifies them

I think both the oil pan and an undertray are both great ideas, I've actually been looking for a larger than stock pan to go on my engine when I put it back in and if reasonably priced, you definetly have a buyer with me.

Unfortuantly, I sold the Supra a while back (thinking of buying another one now) I would need one in order to build something like that.

Where could I find some pics of Dr. J's pan?

No problem. I was reading it a few days ago, and the image of Dr. Jonez and IJ's oil pans just stuck in my head.

think u can give an estimate of the cost??

If you can provide me with a core, than it should be pretty cheap. I would anticipate probably 1 1/2-2 hours fab time, and around $30 material, so your lookin at around $160 or so. (assuming it made using your provided oil pan, and steel being the material)

I think the 7m oil pickup is as much of a problem as the pan, a 1jz/2jz style pickup to go with the pan would be very nice. I might be interested myself for my destroked 7m project. There are too many rod knocked 7m's out there for us not to have an oilpan/pickup upgrade option, I say go for it!
I'll ship you out a pan on Mon if you want. You'll need a 7m block and oil pump to really do this project right though.

I've got a block at the shop, I'll have to dig for the oil pump (bare block) give me some more info on the pick-up idea you are talkin about. If you are serious about shipping the pan PM me for the address.

I have an old oil pump I could send too. The 1jz pickup is about 3" wide and it's flat on the bottom, the 7m pickup is a little pipe with a screen over it.

Sounds good, I could more than likely come up with something good for a pick-up as well, yeah send the pump just in case mine is burried.
