I have a 90 born n/a and the motor is actually an 89 turbo (which was wrecked). The guages were swaped out and I now am using the 89 gauges. The speedometer works and thats it. Is there a big difference between 89 and 90 gauges or is there something that I need to do different? I have an aftermarket temperature guage to make sure its not overheating lol. But driving on "I have no idea how much gas I have" is kind of scary!

If anyone can help me in any way it'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Yeah, 92Nsx had this issue. Apparently 90+ gauges will not work on anything 89 and below. There are also a few differences in the circuit boards, including the airbag warning light. What you can do since your engine is an 89, is once you source an NA 90+ cluster, you can swap in an 89 turbo tach, as it has a 6500rpm redline compared to the 6250 redline of 90+ engines, plus you'll need a turbo tach anyway. Also its handy having an NA voltmeter, and just install an aftermarket boost gauge if you wish, I have mine where the cigarette lighter used to be...

Does the 90+ gauge def have to be N/A?

I would say no, most people get the N/A one because of the voltmeter and get ahold of a turbo tach. The stock boost guage is inaccurate and pretty much useless.

as mentioned above, no it doesn't have to be, but you DO NEED a turbo tachometer, as the NA tach will not work (it can be made to, however just need to swap out a couple of resistors)..

Yep I did have pretty much the same problem. Here was my thread. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76658

Pretty much came down to that a 89 cluster will ONLY work in a 89. If you have a 90 chassis a 90-92 cluster should/will work for you. All other years have different pinouts on the harness. I attached the harness pinout for a 89 that I made while trouble shooting (this is what you cluster is looking for but NOT the way your 90 is wired)

Hope this sheds some light on the subject.
