gauge wiring

hey guys, i installed my defi gauges, but i wanted them to dim with the other gauges in the car.
Anyone know what wire to tap into, on the dimmer switch to make this possible?

well, you could always tap into the headlight "on". That way they would dim when its night time and you don't want them to be super bright. as for the dimmer issue, i wouldn't know as mine was fucking up my lighting sometimes so i bypassed it.

hmm, headlight on wire coming out of the steering column?
i could give that a try.
I noticed when i hooked up a test light to my dimmer switch that when dimmed, the test light would get brighter.
i found that to be weird.

depends on how they function, if they have LED backlights you won't be able to dim them much...

yep. if they are led backlit not much you can do. otherwise, you can tap into the wiring for the ashtray light. it dims w/ the gauges. you cant hook to the gauge wiring directly because it uses the ground side of the circuit.
