Hi Guys,

I was not sure whether to post this in the 1JZ section or here, so i appologise if this is in the wrong spot.

Ever since i did my 1j swap, i have not had a working Tach, fuel, or any engine data gauges.

no cel, or the other three lights around it. No Clock

I believe that i have the M1 plug wired right under the dash, does anyone know what plugs (on the back of the dash) control what gauges and lights in the cluster?

The lights that i do have working are the blinkers, high beam, low coolant (of course i need to know if my Bird Has Gone) tems, E-Brake, Backlights, and seatbelt.

if anybody has any diagrams of the cluster so i can check for signal that would be very helpful.

thanks guys,
-Trevor

Im not sure what year car yours is but here is a pdf file I made on the gauge plugs for my 89. 90+ supras have a different pinout

my car is a 90, but my cluster is an 88, should that still work?

thanks for the info by the way, i really appreciate it

No it will not. But this is the reason why your cluster dosent work (I have a thread here also some where about it). I also had the same problem.

I had a 90+ cluster in my 89, and only one gauge worked(boost, it is the same in all turbo supras 87-92). In order to get the 88 cluster working in a 90 you have to re-pin the entire cluster harness.

The best thing to do is source a new cluster 90+ for your car, other wise you have to re-pin your gauge harness to match the 88 cluster. This is what I did. Thinking about it I have a spair 90+ cluster (Small gauges and PCF) for the most part. The PCF is what changed. (printed circuit film)

In 90 the cluster and harness pin outs changed. If this makes sence to you

EDIT: Here is the thread I also made about the SAME problem. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76658

ahh great. i was assured by a toyota tech that the pre 89 cluster would work fine, as long as it was from a turbo, going into my turbo.

so apparently he was wrong...f**k.

if i were to simply put a 90+ pcb on my pre 89 cluster, would that work?

It should. I have one (PCF) from a 90 turbo, tems, M/T (spair parts cluster I have) if you want to try it. Send me a PM with a offer ;). Im flashchat right now if you need more info about the clusters
