Ok wow, sorry so long to update this, FINALLY got the gasket from toyota for the turbo- to- downpipe. I got the real one lol, paid 54 bucks. Car is all back together and thought all was well. No leaks anywhere... BUT... I have smoke, like running rich..even at idle. It gets worse as the rpm's go up. I drove the car around today and it never went away. Pulled up to one light, and was embarrassed at all the smoke around the car, bluish -gray in color. I'm thinking the rings are shot, but this time Im not sure. Motor has 67k actual miles on it. Do i need to think rebuild or 2jz or am I way off ? I do not have the Greddy emanage on, I held off installing it after seeing the smoke.

Let it idle, if you rev it and then smoke comes out, then it is the valve seals. If it is smoking non stop, it could be the rings or turbo.

when i had bad valve stem seals it would only smoke and eat oil if the engine was cold. if i let it warm up it never smoked or burned oil.

I'm gonna have to go with the turbo seal on this one. I had the same problem, right down to the embarrassment factor. I even pulled the accordion tube to check for oil at the compressor wheel, but found none. You would likely see the leak on the turbine side, though if the turbo is leaking oil on the compressor side, the engine will burn that also. Did you happen to check for shaft play while you had the turbo off?

In my case, a T04 60-1 fixed the problem.

Yes I did, turbo is fine.

I figured out I must have a BHG. I drove the car for awhile and suddenly while sitting at a light, the temp gauge went up. Got home and checked the radiator, added what was about 1/2 gallon of coolant. I then started her back up and..you guessed it....instant white smoke. Guess its time to pull the head already....joy. Anyone wanna help ?.. because this is my first Supra, and I dont know this engine.
