OK, I can't think of it, so help me out plz. It's the gasket that mates between the backside of the turbo & the downpipe. I have a BIC DDP if that helps, and its that gasket that mates it up to the turbo.

^^ I'll second that. They run about $50 retail, but they are worth their weight in gold. Won't blow out like the ones you have pictured. Should be Toyota P/N 17279-42010

Thank you everyone for your input and Toyotanos for listing the part #...you guys rock. I'll be re-assembling once I have that other gasket.

Just make sure that the head to manifold studs hold their torque. Your head looks a lot like mine did when I bought my car(blown gasket/carbon around 5&6), and I had 3 manifold nuts that would not tighten. Looks like you're missing a couple studs too.

on certain gaskets felpro sucks but not all. exhaust mani/turbi, and egr cooler gaskets suck for felpro but most of the other are ok.

the exhaust manifold studs stripping inside the head have nothing to do with the gasket used.

My car had an OEM Toyota gasket that failed from studs pulling out of the head. I was just noting what I saw in common with both of our cars(the soot around 5&6).

Ever take a micrometer to any of the seals or gaskets; then their OEM counterparts. ;)

i have used felpro head gasket and intake gaskets with zero problems.(45k with felpro hg and 57 trim at 8psi zero problems)

so which gasket's are you referring too and what problems have you encountered?

so the toyota gasket has a bigger thicknes and?

im all for using oem everything but downing something that has worked i dont get esp. if its not a 500+hp build.

I've never had any problems with Fel-pro, of course my other cars were not a Supra either. All my studs appear fine and no threads are stripped. They all came off as they should and were very tight. I did have a friend of mine who is a master ASE helping me with the job, and figuring out the things I could'nt...like the hardpipe underneath the bottom of the turbo that runs to the block.

Their seals.

Minus the rear main. All of them are off. ;)

rear main is important. i would never put a main other than Toyota on my car but as far as hg and intakes i dont see the problem. valve covers seem to be fine as well as usually its the bolts loosening up causing the leaks than the gaskets it self.

im a fan of using all toyota gaskets but downing ALL there gaskets when some/most of them have been used succesfully i dont get.

edit: you said there seals, so what your saying is just the front mains and valve covers? a thicker intake gasket would blow out easier than a thinner gasket with boost. and toyota intake gaskets are not that thick.

main seals the money should be spent on them as there very important.

Main seal from Fail Pro is on the money.

Mainly because it shares it's application with the 22R.

Cam seals were okay. Front main, Cam, Oil pump.

But if i were to buy valve seals. go with fail pro; they're cheaper than toyota and share the design. :)
