This question is for the AT guys, how sensitive is your gas pedal and how hard is it to push down?

I ask because i find my pedal to be pretty hard in comparison to other cars ive driven, and in order for me to kick down i have to push the pedal to the floor. Is this common at all or is it an easy fix?

Thanks

Check the throttle linkage, throttle cable, and kick down cable. If you disconnect the throttle cable from the linkage on the motor, you should be able to pull and push it easily through the full range of the pedal. You could also disconnect the little rods, clean, and grease the ball and clip fittings. If you disconnect the kick down cable from the throttle body/linkage(not sure where it connects), you should be able to push and pull it the same amount. It won't move far, but should move both ways freely. You can also check the throttle plate, and make sure that it isn't sticking, either.

The trans. should kick down at w.o.t. There probably is a specific point, but it would be close to full throttle.

Controls line pressure in the tranny...nothing to do with "kick down" to a lower gear.
