when i turn left or right the fuel gauge goes down alot! when i straight the car out and start driving straight it slowly goes back up.....

on other cars the gas gauge doesnt even move when ur turning...

so why does my 88 t Supra gas gauge level change when im turning?

^ As it should. The fuel gage is a cross coil non-return type. That means it's dampened to the point where it's designed to stay where it was when power is removed. The way it does that is by using a full balancing disc on the pointer shaft instead of the half disc used on return type gages. In addition it's filled with a much higher viscosity silicone oil than return types. No way it should move during turns.

The low fuel indicator is a completely separate circuit...

what about gauges reading high after sitting a few days/weeks, and then dropping when you start the car?

I have about 1/8th of a tank in my car, and when i got home from vacation I had to move it. It registered a bit above 1/4 tank before starting and then when i started the car it slowly sank back down to 1/8th of a tank.

(N/A 1986.5 supra, if that makes any difference)

other than that and being a little slow at registering fuel when it's added at the station, it seems fine. :)
