So yeah, this is purely a cosmetic thing. There are no real benefits other than maybe a couple pints of extra gas :icon_conf I'm doing it because I wanted to shave my gas door.

There is still a channel for the water to run out the side and I put a drain line on the bottom of the plastic piece in case I spill any gas. It rained all night and no water even hit it or collected in the plastic so I'm happy. Also there is no noise difference in the car either.

Where it's going too....

How it's getting there....

The new pipe.... (the welds aren't pretty but they're air tight :icon_bigg )

AND.... DONE

To the tank:.............The filler:

The rubber piece that goes around what? Everything that is there on the car was just moved. I have a grommet for where it goes through the fender though.

As for the panels, they are going to be replaced. I'm going to be remaking all the panels for a custom sub/amp/spare tire/whatever else I put back there :) Going to do it in fiberglass and a layer of carbon fiber. I think it should look nice with my black interior.

As stated in your rebuild thread, I love the idea that you've done. I will probably be stealling that idea if you don't mind (keeps them little bastards from trying to steal you gas ;)).

I like it! Will the hatch seal work properly now that it's bent around the filler? I would get that pipe powdercoated so it doesn't rust up. Don't want gas fumes flying in through the rear of the car...

Get some smaller hose clamps down by the tank ;)

LOL yeah I completely guessed on what size I needed and I was off by a LOT but they do just barely fit. :icon_razz

Thanks for the props and the tips guys. I'll update this thread later on as I get the panels done and things painted.

***BTW anyone who wants to steal the idea feel free! I figured it was about time I contributed something like this to the community and that's really the reason I wanted to post. I've gotten so many great ideas from you guys I figured I should share back :D

Any pics of the panels assembled and everything done?

I'll get them ASAP but my car just took a dive on me, need to concentrate on the motor now :( I hope to have it working this week and maybe some pics of the trunk this weekend.

But the original panels won't fit and look pretty. I just cut a space in the hatch panel and the one that goes around that corner will also just be cut. I'm going to be doing custom fiberglass ones that will match the contours. Just FYI, I was surprised no one brought it up, but you can still access the tail light bulb housing.
