My gas door wont open when I pull the lever. It seems as if the cable has stretched. Has anyone replaced it or fixed it somehow? If so, any tips or helpful hints?

when my car was getting painted i asked them to fix mine so i bought the cable the spring and that little black piece that helps the door part open

it should be the spring part that you need to replace

Doing that right now
To get to it I had to remove the back pass panel. but to do that you have to remove every panel behind the pass seat all the way to the back. I was doing other things in that corner so no big problem for me. but it was a 1hr ordeal of removing this to remove that. used the tsrm and did not brake a clip.

I just replaced mine as well. I ended up prying my door open (no paint and a broken door hinge). I bought a door and new latch in the For sale section here. I was able to swap my latch out without removing anything but the access panel. It took about an hour, mostly because getting the cable routed was difficult without seeing it. I had the old latch to go by, and I let that guide me.

I replaced my cable and it still wouldnt open. So I took a shorter cable that went from the hatch key hole to the hatch latch. I ran it so that you pull open the acces panel and open it from there.

Mine wouldnt open one day, my cable actually came unhooked from the clip on the latch. I had to remove the whole panel to put it back together but all in all it only took an hour or so. Its worked like a charm ever since, so if the pull has gotten any lighter since it quit working you could check that.

No prying necessary. With relatively thin arms, you can reach up through the access hole and pop the gas door open via the latch on the inside. :)
