I'm undergoing a few upgrades, and will be running "said" turbo on my 'bone stock' motor.:eek: :nuts: I have upgraded fuel, pump/inj and vfpr. I have a ffim, fmic, XS Power header, Tial 40mm wg, AEM wideband, AVCR, SAFC II, 3" dp, and 3.5" exhaust, 2mm Cometic mhg, ARP studs and etc, etc. Compression was pretty good, 148-153 all the way across. mileage is 125.000. I don't plan on running un-tuned this time, what should I expect with this set-up? The turbo specs are; 57mm compressor wheel (.70 a/r) and .63 a/r turbine (Precision). Turbo's builder, says full boost by 3200 rpm, and turbo good for 500 whp... if tuned correctly.
Discuss, and input more than welcome.:icon_bigg
Thanks;
Tom

Well, it should be better than the CT26. The exhaust looks a bit small, considering how small the blower is. I like quick responding turbos though.

Damn Tom, you and I think a LOT alike. This is one of the turbos I was considering, in almost the exact same specs! If I were you I'd sell the AVCR & SAFC and use the profits to pick up a MAFT Pro.

Agreed!
I'm going to be going with MAFT myself Tom.
Can't wait to see/ride in this once you're all done ;)

Yeah Dave, you are probably right, but for now, I'm gonna' stick with the Lexus, and hope for the best.:x: Maybe later, the Maft-Pro, or a Map Ecu.:icon_bigg
The GT3076R, should be pretty nasty in the lower rpm range though:naughty: looking forward to showing the tailights to a few "big" turbo guy's...if only for a short few seconds!!:biglaugh:

Survey says , it runs off the map at 18psi , which = 450 hp . Lag won't be a problem though :icon_conf

Tom

full boost by 3200?? should be more like 2000, that turbos on the smaller side, i would DEFINATLY recomend the gt3582R (gt35/40) THAT turbo will be full boost 3200 and 500 horsepower capable.

AKA GT3082R

Basically like a GT version of the T3/T4

http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/m...OD&Product_Code=GRT-TBO-032&Category_Code=GRT

I'm in the process of putting one on my 1JZ :)

That 30/40 would be too small on a 7m, the turbine would choke the motor, go with a 35/40. Ask IJ how his tires are fairing up to it.

its a GT35-40R or GT3582R. its a GT35 turbine and center section with a comprssor wheel with the same exducer as a GT4082. Its basicly a GT4082 wheel on a GT35, but the inducer of the compressor wheel is slightly larger on the gt3582r.

Thats not the only GT series t3/t4, the lineup of the gt35 (71,82R) is a t3/t4 and also the gt37 lineup is a t3/t4 as well. t3/t4 isnt a good way to describe a turbo unless your tring to hide something from someone in a race. garrett, doesnt use the T3, T4 or T3/T4 designation they just use the family of turbo (GT-25, 28, 30, 32, 35, 37, 40, 42, 45, 47, 50, 55, 60) and the exducer of the compressor wheel in there turbo names. A GT4088, is a gt40 turbo with a 88mm exducer on the compressor wheel, a GT4082 is a gt40 turbo with a 82mm compresson wheel exducer.

I ran a 3040R .63ar a few years back on a stock motor, it was AMAZING off idle but choked badly by 6000rpm.

IJ;
By choking badly, are you referring to the inability of the turbo, to continue making power after 6000rpm? How could a dual bb turbo, with both sides larger than the .57 Trim CT I was running, not be a huge improvement?:icon_conf I'm not saying that is what you said, but it seems that others have suggested that the turbo will be almost useless on a 7M.:icon_surp Do you know what would be the easiest, and cheapest way to quickly upgrade the capability of my GT3076R? The builder used a .70a/r compressor housing, instead of the Garrett site listed .60, so it seems that a larger compressor wheel would be the quickest/easiest upgrade...but I don't know enough about turbo's to make that call!:aigo:
