Been thinking about the sort of worksurface i'm going for - obviously, i want a single contiguous sheet of something, rather than planks, was even thinking of chipboard (the thick stuff). Also been thinking about lighting. Now, i want better general lighting in there than just a single strip light, so i wanted something like this:

http://www.screwfix.com/prods/80613...inSpot-Twin-Spotlight-75W-Graphite-Floodlight

Well, six of them. Two on each side of the end walls, and two on the middle bay (one on each side of the beams). I also want a proper work light to use on the bench - and i came across this:

Expensive i know, but it looks like a good quality workshop light - what do you guys think?

The floods look good. I would recommend a motion activated setup for two reason: Never have to flip a switch, and if some one sneaks in, it'll light em up like a Christmas tree. The bench light looks good for electronics stuff, but my be unnecessary for bigger projects. Also, floresents will save you some on power bills and still provide excellent amounts of light. Looks like you got a good setup going.

Power bills out here are stupid cheap - thanks to 95% of it being nuclear :)

The electronics stuff is something i'll need it for as well, as well as something to specifically illuminate whatever i'm working on (the magnifier is a bonus).

Can't be dealing with a motion sensor though - what if i want to sit at the worktable? :p

Never had a problem with it in my workshop at work. The only time I had the lights go out was when I spent about 20 min playing on my cell phone sitting in one spot.
