Jake, if you want cheap, go with aluminized piping.

Matter of fact, go with these - HOK-12285HKR - from Summit Racing, for $33 each. Pick up 3 (might get away with 2), and hit up your local exhaust shop for a 10' piece of aluminized 3.5" piping. If you can't find any, let me know - Million Parts Warehouse in Belleview, ONLY handles exhaust supplies for local shops - I can get some from there.

Build your own mandrel 3.5" exhaust, for under $150!

Besides, we Floridians are spoiled - no salt on the ground for us to contend with ;)

I'll probably do that, coat it and wrap it...

Doward: I may do that... Like I said, maybe just temp until I can get the car done... I dont think stainless vs. aluminized will be any different performance wise...

do you not have problems with the aluminum exhaust melting? or atleast deforming?

aluminum is only good till 625*c or so and under high boost you'd be into those kinda temps by the middle of the point I would think.

That's why I never did it out of aluminum, would sure be sweet if I was wrong tho, great way to save some more weight.

I think I may look into aluminized as an option... Besides, Im sure if I go with that and opt to upgrade to stainless, I can easily sell it and get my money back... :)

My buddy who welds for me is tyellin at me for not commiting to stainless, lol... You know how pretty stainless welds are and how ugly mild steel is, we live in florida, salt water, lots of rain, go stainless!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, I may have to save a few more dimes and do stainless... ;)

I didn't have a roller back then and SS is to hard to form by hand for the hump over the fuel tank :icon_razz
IJ, did you actually form out the spare tire well? Mine is rusting, the actual hanger for the muffler's heat shield has pulled through, so I was thinking about cutting out the whole spare tire well and welding in a plate, like a flat floor back there... *friggin leaky supra hatches, grrr! :rant2:*
