you can't "defang a snake" they will grow right back....I think what you mean is she a venomoid? no she still has her venom glands and fangs....she lose her beautiful head shape if I had the venomoid surgery performed LOL....

Considering scorpions shit from the end of the tail just under the stinger removeing the stinger could be fatal.

I cleaned her cage just before I packed that volume knob up and sent out for you....I didn't wash my hands....there could be trace ammounts of venom from the last feeding on that knob.....LOL...don't panic cause it will only work faster...LOL

LOL don't suppose you know what gaboon viper antivenom cost...let's just say with all the vials I would need to even have a remote chance of surviveing a bite I could fund a 1000hp supra! Becides...the odds of surviveing a gaboon viper bite are very very slim....most cases of gaboon bites they die within the first 45 min....but in an emergency the Philly zoo does have antivenom for gaboon vipers cause they have one on display. I also know of dealers in Florida that would fly antivenom here to the hospital in such a case....

Ive been dealing with hot snakes for a long time...used to breed cobras but they shit too much and need constant maintanence that I don't have time for....gaboons are very calm and slow moveing but they have one of the worlds fastest strikes and unlike rattle snakes or other vipers they can strike over there backs

Also antivenom has a shelf life....needs to be replaced every so often...

that is correct...they have been know to exceed 2" in length...they also hold the record for the most venom production of all snakes "hot".

Adults get HUGE!!!!! Their head can get up to 6" wide...get to almost 6' in length..... They are also very vocal when they hiss, sounds like a tire that you just shoved a knife threw! But they are also very calm and don't like confrontation....they know what is food and what isn't and they tend to be very reluctant to bite.....though I never put myself in a position to get bit.
