true, but that explains 90% of all of chevys problems. Lack of ease with maintenance. Thats what makes a car a car...maintenance. i believe if you cant work on it, or make it faster...its useless.

It saved them time, because at that point all they had to do was drop the chassis on the engine, then tighten down bolts, then ship it out to the showroom floor. Makes sense if you think about it... or are an idiot..

Aside from a few cars (Vettes, Corvaires, Chevelle SS), chevy could fall off the face of the earth for all I care.

I agree to an extent. I love having my Supra as a car that, for all intents and purposes, has no boundaries (at least not realistic ones for me), but in the same respect, a lot of my friends are perfectly content with their cars so long as they drive. My best friend spent $700 on a dodge stratus, which isn't too fabulous on gas and it can't idle too well, but he loves it. He dogs the hell out of it, too. :p It's all in perspective.

haha yeah....speaking of which my dd is an 87 sentra carburated. Totally baseline car, but it gets 35+ mpg and i only spent $500 on it and its extremely reliable. For the time being that is, until my supra is up and running. I guess im just speaking opinion, of course, when dont i? ;)

Mustang or Camaro, people are stupid if they make it all show no go.

I had an 84 camaro, and I loved it. It had a hole in the pipe near the cat that i didnt care much to fix till I got other stuff done, and it sounded loud and nice... but man it was slow stock.

IMO, you should have the HP to back the sound.
And you should be humble about it anyway. Its better to destroy people without bragging, cuz then its funny. If you brag then destroy them, ur just an ass :p

Is it wrong that I go around telling everyone I have a 7m-ge when I actually have a 1jz-gte? :biglaugh:

And I don't completely agree with that, either. If you brag then destroy them, at least you're able to back yourself up, and you earn the right to brag (I still wouldn't, though). If you brag, then get yourself destroyed, then you're just an ass, and a humiliated one at that. However, talk small win big.

Haha, you want great handling? Just get a third gen camaro (82-92)

God that thing handled like a DREAM, mine was an 84, and that year the camaro/firebird was the best handling car in america.

and yea ret, i do agree with you, i just tend to be the humble guy alot. I'm all for go with little show. My dream car is just a nice fresh clean sleeper, so I dont really brag or anything ya kno.

But handing peoples ass's to them regardless is fun :D

hmmm...

odd thread.

Usually mustangs with exhaust(x pipe and catback) are some of the best sounding cars on the road. They have a great sound...

And people dogging the camaro and firebird... WTF are you thinking? LSx for the win!

I disagree on the sound of the mustangs; I've yet to hear one I thought sounded good. Actually I take that back...I've heard ONE, and he ate me alive from a 35 roll...like 15 cars in about 1/2 mile LOL.

Anywho, Chevy motors are the king of sound and pound. End thread.

Hey, dont get me wrong, I'm definately a chevy guy. Chevy ftw.

But its a known fact that at 48 cid smaller, the ford 302 was just as capable as the chevy 350.

i agree....oh ya and for you big block fans, ever slapped a turbo on a 302? Thats what i thought. Edit...and the 302 has a larger bore than a 350 (4.0")

Obviously you have no idea how capable the ford 302 was.

a 302 is compaired to a 305 and we all know that outcome 302>305
and the 351 is compaired to the 350 and we all know 351>350 lol but i'm a ford fan don't get me wrong a 350 is a good motor after its modded but stock for stock i've never seen a 350 beat a 351

a 302 is a million times > a chevy 305. my 302 in my bronco is faster then my brothers ford truck with a 351 big block until he hits 2nd, but thats because i have stock exhaust (with 2 dam old cats). If i went straight pipes he wouldnt hold a candle.

as for a 351 > a 350.. first you have to specify WHICH 351, and then you have to realize that 350s came in a million different vehicles, so a 350 from a truck, or a 350 from a camaro? etc. But you have to realize the 350 is THE most common engine in the world, and you can make one insanely fast for under 2 g's no problem.

But as stock for stock, I'd be willing to bet that a ls1 350 out of a 99 camaro would beat any version of a 351 :)
