Funniest thing you've ever heard about your supra.

It's kinda funny, I have been told that my probe won't beat this kids cobalt.

I have been asked "Does that have the 1.3 rotory?" I replied "Yeah I swapped out the straight 6 turbo for a N/A rotory" the guy got this constipated look on his face and drove off.

I went into a store and while I was in there a guy parked next to my supra with my wife in it and when he got out he told her that he had a rx8 sitting at home just like it.

Now all these guys mistake it for something else yet a 10 year old walking across a parking lot says "WOOOW you have a supra? Those things are sweet, is it turbo?" He was so excited to see a supra seems like this kid knew more than some guys out there. LOL

And I Quote "Hows Your Head gasket?" I was at one of the "cupcake" car meets here in Austin and a guy driving an SE-R Sentra asked me what kind of car I drove and I said "MKIII supra" his reply "hows your head gasket?" smart ass :p

Hah, the irony... Considering those pieces o' shit have nearly as many gasket issues from the factory as we do (at least the B15s do)... I'd have politely said "mine's fine today, how's yours?"

I've had several people say "Oh!! That's the car from Back to the Future!!!" of which a couple even requested to see the doors 'go up'...

I've also had a couple people say it looks like [the same type of car as] the night rider car... So I can vouch for the Camaro/Firebird thing as well.

what pisses me off when my dad calls my supra a Subaru
Hey, could be worse... my brother tends to call mine a Daytona... I just go with it now, it's kinda funny. Maybe I should start telling people that's what mine is. Considering there's more Daytona's on the road around here, it seems more likely. :p

Reminds me of a guy I knew in Phoenix a while back. Vinny's little boy was all of maybe 3 or 4 years old, yet knew his cars better than most people who were at that show... Kid's gonna be a badass when he's older. :)

people do not see the toyota badge on the front and rear of our cars or....?
Had a Rustang pull up really close to my tail last weekend, trying to see just what my car was (my trim, and therefore badging, is body colored) , and kept revving at me, from behind me... couldn't figure that one out. Looked like a Saleen convertible of some sort, but I still found it funny.

At least your cars have been mistaken for something that looks vaguely similar to a supra.
I got asked by this guy one day if my mk3 was a skyline.....

And when they do they look all confused... That reminds me of the last time I was at the local drag strip. I was waiting inline and a young guy and his gal walked in front of my car, he looked over saw TOYOTA in the grille and then quietly tapped the girls arm and said something like, "its a Toyota?" She looked confused as well and they both walked away before I could talk to them.

Also reminds me of one time at a two lane red light a V6 Charger pulled up next to me, he power braked a little and then neutral revved it. I let this go for about 22 seconds before I let the 1UZ roar. Next thing I know I hear him say "HOLY SHIT!!!!!" He looks over and says "This is only a V6, what the hell is that?" hahaha, that made my day.

these are good...

Best one I've had recently would be at the drag strip as well.

"Well over in the Coca-cola lane is a...well...it looks kinda like a 280z. Yep, that Nissan Z-car there is going up against a Mitsubitchy MR-2 in the Lucas Lane. Should be a good race!"

I've heard so many missed quote's at the strip by the announcers i don't know why they can never find someone who knows there shit on all cars.

Its like working at Domino's and not knowing the difference between Pepperoni and Ham...

Well mine has but a dent in my pocket maybe if i bought it knew and took care of it from day one aside from factory mistakes with the 7M im sure it would have been a hell of a car from the get go.

But now many thousands later my car is running pretty darn good and as i do drive it and beat on her daily she still is going strong.

Nope no difference at all.

Like the prius is the same as a supra both have the word toyota on them and have four wheels...

All depends on the owner in most cases... I've put however many miles on mine (broken speedo cable, again) in the last 22 months that I've been daily driving/abusing mine. Hell, I treat this thing like a work horse. It's my grocery getting, tow-, race, etc car. Aside from oil changes and a couple unscheduled turbo coolant hoses popping on me, mine's been pretty damned solid. :)

That sounds just like me, my speedo cable broke about a year and a half ago at 276,341 miles, I have been daily driving mine for 3 years now, getting groceries, hauling transmissions, engine blocks, and even lumber and the only thing I have done is oil changes, starter, one ball joint, and tires. Now I am 24 years old and have had 28 cars, this is the only car that has lasted me more than a year and this thing still runs and drives perfect. I have no complaints but maybe I am an exception to the rule "When owning a supra, be prepared to work on it more than you drive it" lol and to think I only paid $1100 for it 3 years ago and maybe put $300 into it in the last 70k miles.

I once heard someone say mk3's had 4x4 suspension stock, (mine being stock of course) I took a gander at my supra and I said to myself "well I'll be damned I COULD probably drive that over a rock or two!"
