Im just exploring my options before I go the lex/550 way.

Has anyone used this type of translator before?

I dont know much about it.

Is this similar to the maft pro at all?

I know it removes the afm completly and converts to speed density but I also heard that it has fuel tuning capabilities eliminatiing the need for an electronic fuel tuning device such as the Apexi NEO.

Searching yeilded this....Any additional info would be great as this thread didnt answer everything.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Err... yes, lots of folks here have used them, myself included. It's the precursor to the MAFT Pro, so it's similar, but without the huge feature list of the Pro unit.

Yes, you can tune your fuel with it, and it will replace a lexus AFM.

The regular MAFT doesn't switch you over to speed/density. It uses a GM hot wire sensor. The MaftPro w/ speed/density harness switches you to speed/density.

Is this device plug in play or is splicing required?

Also, how do you make fuel adjustments with this? Is a labtop required?

One last question.

By deleting the afm, are all of the vacuum hoses still necesary that plug into the acordian pipe? PCV? ISC?

Yes, they're all still necessary.

Thanks Sheff.

I guess I need to fab a custom turbo inlet pipe.

Wish there were 4" ones avilable with all the hose provisions.
