I have a stock 88 Supra with a leaky tank. I thought it was the filler tube, but after replacing the gasket for it, it still leaks anytime I have more than 3/8 of a tank, so I think the seam is rusted through somewhere.
So.. I purchased a tank (used, but holds fuel). It has been undercoated, but it has some rust areas around the lids on the top (3 of them) and around the spout area.
My question is.. because I have the tank out, what would be the best things to do to it prior to popping it on my car. I will be replacing all seals (just because it makes sense to do it now) and am thinking I should drop a Walbro fuel pump into it.
Just wondering if there is anything I should do to make it a "perfect" gas tank (no I wont chrome it.. lol) before putting it into my baby..
