anyone know whats causing my fuel rail to make loud noises. it sounds like fuel being pushed through and it's loud.

Since i did my timing and put everything back together this noise won't stop. I remember someone telling me that it's the rail pressure( i think repressuring the lines, but it non stop)

any suggestion.

I can hear it coming from the engine. it keeps running even when i shut the car off and remove the key. the only way it will stop is if i disconnect the battery. I know its coming from the fuel rail i can hear it. Any idea why my fuel rail keeps running?????

You know its the fuel rail because you put your ear to the rail and are positive its coming from that?
Not sure I've heard anything like this.
Im trying to figure out if you are just hearing the waterfall noise that occurs when your coolant needs to be burped. Comes from the firewall area, and you can hear it after you shut your car off.

I know its the fuel rail because i can feel the pressure along with the noise. If i take a screw driver and place it on the rail i can feel it vibrate and i'll put my ear to it and hear it even louder.

The only error I can think of that I did to cause this is sparking the battery a few times because I was rushing to get the car up and running. I believe that that caused my starter wire to get damaged. The car would crank over so I thought to check the starter by bypassing the starter wire and found the wire was bad, so I replaced it and the car is now cranking

you don't have +B and FP jumped in the diagnostic terminal, do you? (odd, yes, but that'll do it)

take the fuel pump relay out, should shut off, then hit it with your hand a couple of times and put it back in. the contacts can tack them selves together, happened on my bronco a few times. hitting it with your hand will get them to separate. chances are you need to replace it but check to make sure there isn't constant power to the relay or pump before buying anything.

Your car cannot run with the fuel pump relay disconnected! :aigo:

Ok crew I've tried using a 2nd known working pump relay and the same thing occurs.

i asked someone else a question off the board and they were very cool and helpful. i'm pasting what they told me........................ so others the have similar prob could refer to this. My original questions was:

hi,

it reconnected and i wanted to ask you off the forum i didn't want to confuse things.

i had a 2nd working one and reconnected that one and then noise still occurs.

would the fuel rail try torepressuriz its self after doing a timimg belt?

ANSWER:

"That relay is controlled directly by the ECU. If swapping another one doesn't fix it, then you most likely have a problem with the ECU or EFI main relay.
