Hello gentlemen,

I'm in the process of wiring my Walbro Fuel Pump and I am at a point where I need to make some decisions.

I've been looking at fuses and relays for the fuel pump re-wire, the fuse type I've found locally was the Bussmann - ATC Splash-Proof Fuse Holder #12 Lead Wire, 30A Max.

http://www.cooperbussmann.com/pdf/95fa462a-7aa0-4d18-a094-cff814dd6e1a.pdf

Will this be sufficient?

From Shaeff's write-up, he suggested using a 10gauge wire, the Bussmann uses a 12gauge. In addition to this difference, the Bussman fuse is a Fuse holder type versus the in-line type Shaeff suggested.

With the previous statement in mind, what fuse should I use for the fuel pump if the fuse holder is ready for the job?

Thank you,

Matt-

I'm using a 12v/40amp relay as well.
What type of fuse did you run for the power line?

Wellllll ........ I got a opinun on this......

Ok you run 10guage wire... you are running pump as hard or its getting old and pulling more amps then when new... you know how wire gets hot ? its going to get hot at the least resistance.. thats going to be the thin wire inside tank.....

its something i have pondered....

i used oil and gas resistant wire straight to the pump in the tank.i even ran a new ground to the pump and cut all the factory stuff out.

The wires that connect in the clip on the top of the fuel pump is 12 gauge. I assume this size wire must be acceptable, as it was supplied by the vendor.

I have yet to see any wire that is oil and gas resisistant.

Where did you get it?
