Fuel Injector wiring.

OK so i got everything together and my car won't fire it cranks and you can here the exhaust burping but no cigar.

Fuel pump turns on with Fp and B+ jumped also seeing almost 40psi in fuel pressure.

I have aftermarket fuel injector clips (EV6 i think) and 560cc injectors off a evo 8.

I think the culprit is when i switched them from my old harness to new harness i messed up the wire pattern.

Only other thing that it could be is the CPS i think. i am using a Green Plug CPS(Yellow Plug Harness) on a Grey Plug Harness. Without trying to switch the wires around at all.


My car is a 1989 Turbo Grey Plug Harness.

Injector Clip 1 (Stock Grey clip) - White/White with black stripe

Injector Clip 2 (Maroon) - Black/White with Red stripe

Injector Clip 3 (Grey) - Red/White

Injector Clip 4 (Maroon) - White/white blue stripe

Injector Clip 5 (GRey) - White/Red

Injector clip 6 (Maroon) -Black/White with Red stripe





Can someone please confirm the order with me and help me figure out witch wire goes on the left and witch wire goes to the right of the clip.

The injectors shouldn't have a specific polarity as far as +/- of which wires. Having said that I think that your focus should be on the CPS. Even if your injectors were plugged in the wrong order I think you'd get more than a puff puff out the exhaust.

Just wire up the plug like this.. even if you can't read an electrical diagram the picture on the left should be able to help you figure out what goes where..

I assume you are saying the injector plugs are mixed up?

Spray starting fluid in the throttle body and see if it starts. If it does, you know it's not getting fuel.

I think your right i just went through all fuel injector clips.

I really don't want to hard wire my cps but i think that's the next step

Okay so i drove to walmart picked up some starter fluid sprayed it into the throttle body and nothing changed at all.

Also the behavior does not change when i plug or unplug the CPS

Then that means there is no spark, we all know the guy who steals the spark away from the 7M.

I couldn't get mine to start either. My cps apparently got turned by someone playing with my damn parts. I turned it little, put it back in and tried to start. Took about 8 try's to get it to crank and then it was still way out when we put a timing light on it. Is there any way it got turned? Also, how long did you prime the fuel rail?

What do you mean got turned ?

I installed it just like the TSRM said to with the drilled hole lined up with the notch and pushed it in. with the cams at TDC and the Crank at 0*

I think i understand what you mean. Like if someone was playing with the gear at the end of the CPS while it was out of the engine. This is very possible i guess as i bought the part from someone else recently. How do i check or get that back into spec? Do i spin in counter clock wise or clockwise ... Or is there no way of knowing ?

I didn't post those diagrams because I thought maybe the CPS was your issue, I've been there and done that. Why have you not taken my advice? It seems you want it to be something quick and easy. Check your wiring man. I spent time posting help for your sake. So please try it out.

I did check the wiring when you posted. i was actually doing that as i posted the first and also used what posted to check everything. And i do appreciate the help.

By the way i did get the car started apparently no sleep and no daylight has a effect on my brain.

I turned the crank back to 0* and the cam gears where 8 teeth Off!! So i fixed that and put the CPS back in and it Instantly Started.

So i set the ignition timing with the cps to 10 car is running real rough seems to be missing pretty bad sounds like a Wrx sti.

Threw check engine codes 31-41-52

Witch sucks ass because its a newer harness and i don't even no where to began to look. Over then to start checking all the wires but i know the clips and wiring is in good shape as I just went over them and put the harness in the car.

i feel defeated. I felt like there should not be any short circuits in the harness.

although the whether is poor at the moment so i guess ill go back out tomorrow and work on it.
