I want to install new fuel injectors into my 7M-GTE, is there a handy DIY available?

I assume I need to remove the 3000-pipe, TB cable, FPR, what else? How many bolts hold the plenum to the engine?

The guy I bought the 550cc's from assured me it's "an easy 40 minute" swap, it doesn't look like it? :3d_frown:

There is no worthwhile write up on such a straight forward task...you just gotta remove what's in your way.

Order a new throttle body gasket...order new injector seals and isolators....order new copper crush seals for the fuel line crap that you remove...

If you're installing 550's then you can remove the fuel damper with the hose from driftmotion...bypass the jtube etc

I hope you did research and have supporting mods to demand 550's....running 550's on a stock system is pointless...

What all mods have you got so far that will support 550cc injectors?

I couldn’t find the threads, to credit the source, but here is what I had printed:

you NEED to buy new injector grommets/seals where they go into the head. the 7M is very picky when it comes to these seals. i was able to reuse them on 4G63S but not the 7M.. i had a huge leak when i tried to reuse them.
youll have to remove all the stuff on top of the engine, the 3000 pipe, the 2 tubes that run next to it, the throttle cables, the ISC connector, the fuel rail inlet hardline. then, you use a 12mm socket to remove the 3 bolts, then you should have enough clearance to pull the fuel rail up towards the throttle body, then use some big needle nose pliers to pull the old injectors out of the rail or the head; whichever one they end up sticking too. ive done this 3 or 4 times, so there is enough room to do it like this.
Also – remember to lubricate the o-rings with gas during installation and check for smooth rotation once installed to insure proper seating.

I've noticed that alot of times the injectors don't want to come out of the fuel rail very easy....I've had to wrestle them out of 3 rails...just expect this and don't think something is wrong if they don't want to come out...just twist and pull harder!
