12 lbs is that cutoff, I thought that mite be higher, i have my autometer boost guage tap between stock fuel pressure regulator, could it be a different pressure from this point.

12 psi is where you will generally see fuel cut...it depends on the outside conditions (cold vs warm) and the AFM sensor. Some motors will hit it a little sooner...some a little later.

You need to run your boost gauge off the fitting at the rear of the manifold where the stock ones gets pressure. Or you can T into the big fitting at the front of the manifold. You want the gauge to get a direct pressure reading from the intake.

Now that you mentioned it, when it's really cold it does it alot, but I really thought it was higher, my next question where can i buy any FCD or is there another wayy to get around fuel cut.

feul cut is your friend actually i wouldn't go around it....( helps stop engine before blowing)

You can raise fuel cut by the lex afm/550inj/walbro 255 pump etc etc ....
search about the combo and you'll find lots of info.

Keep in mind fuel cut is there for a reason...to protect the motor. If you are running the original stock HG, you need to back off the boost.

This site is littered with sad stories of "How I blew my head gasket" and the majority were turning up the boost without building the motor to take it. A FCD is a dangerous piece of equipment...I promise you that you will blow the motor unless you have a metal head gasket and the appropriate supporting mods.

Guys...keep in mind fuel cut is based on the amount of airflow through the AFM, not the amount of boost in psi. This can vary...that's why the Lex/550 combo works to raise fuel cut...you are allowing additional unmetered air into the system. He may also have a minor leak. In addition, the location of the boost sensor needs to be reading at the intake to be accurate.

So if i got a 255 intank ,remove the j tube then bought a lex meter could i run does at first or will i need to put injectors the same time, or can I just get HKS FCD instead, the reason I ask is that my friend runs the lex meter by itself and his car seems to run find. I guess ebay here we come.

there have been ppl who have run a LEX and not put 550's in and been kinda successful?!:aigo:

you would have to have your stock 440 inj. cleans and flow tested.
change the to a 255 fuel pump and a new AFPR and some tuning capabilites.

im not sure if thats 100% right, but if it were me i'd save up and get the following: ( all maintainence should be done FIRST: Ex. HG job.)

lex afm, 550inj(rc, lucas, Denso are good DO NOT GET VENOM INJ.) 255 fuel pump, AFPR, Safc/maftpro/aem ems, and a wideband to watch your air feul/fuel ratios.

stay away from FCD, read the posts from me and jdub....FC is your friend; protect engine from blowing.

as far as buying them, post a thread in the WTB section that u want a Lex afm, they can be had for 100-130
PM lagged he might still have his.

there was another way to raise FC.
Justanothervictim i think posted a thread on drilling your afm in a certain area and raised fuel cut to like 15 or so.
you'd have to earch

Read, read, read, read, read AND READ before you start just throwing in a FCD.
Listen to j dub, and osc.
Do a HG job first.
Then start looking at lex, 550's and 255 pump.
you'll save money and time in the long run and save lots of frustration of blowing a motor.

Shameless plug:: I've got an FCD for sale...Your's for 70 shipped!

On-topic: lex/440's will work but be prepared to shell out some coin when the HG goes pop.
