ok, i know im not very computer surfing savey, but i cannot find an answer to this looming question i have in my head, so, i will ask and hope i dont get yelled at for double posting. :1zhelp: ok, everyone knows about the fuel cut in their 7m-gte. mines hitting around 13psi. my question.......what is telling the computer to cut the fuel? the mass air, or the sensor for the guage? and my question to that is.....can one just unplug the vacume line going to the little sensor on the driver fender, resulting in the computer not kowing how much boost is being fed through the intake?........theredicly i think it should be possible to do......but heck, i dunno what one the tattle tale sensor is running to momma computer saying to shut it down at a lame low psi! :nono:

Fuel cut is based on the volume of air that the AFM senses and transmits to the ECU. The stock boost gauge or it's sensor has nothing to do with it.

fuel cut is designed to prevent you from damaging your engine. i dont know the answer about unplugging a sensor to avoid it....... but it sounds like a dumb idea. from what i remember, somewhere around 12-14psi on a stock setup mk3 is where you hit fuel cut. there are other ways to get around it. such as a FCD which ive heard is also a bad idea. start by upgrading your fuel system (injectors, pump, afpr), getting a wideband, and get a piggyback fuel computer to tune your car appropriately to handle the increased power. this way you can safely increase boost. i recommend you either do a lot of research before you tune your car on your own, or get it done professionally.

lexafm, 550cc injectors, bigger fuel pump, and afpr are a step in the right direction if you have a fuel computer
