I had the same problems when I first put my DDP on last year. Hit fuel cut in 2-5th gear. Took my shims off and the car could do 5th gear pulls no problem.
Fast forward to me taking the car out after storage this winter and I put on my HKS BOV. The car no longer only made 7/8psi it was going up to 13 without shims and fuel cutting in 3rd again. Checked the stock bypass I took off and sure enough it was shot. So now it appears that I have a problem with the wastegate opening. I will be checking how far it opens when I install the new accordian hose, and compressor to wastegate actuator vac line (I am hoping that is the problem since I don't want to take the DP off or worse yet have to port the wastegate). Only other thing could be that actuator itself but it seems to open in the same spot it always did (the ddp makes that real easy to hear).
Has anyone had problems with the stock CT and having to port it to have proper boost control? I was under the impression it would be abnormal for the BIC DDP to have the wastegate unable to fully open? The one cool thing is with the cars new found power it is really fun in first and second
also car currently has the apexi intake, stock IC, Cooleze hard pipes, no wastegate shims, and the straight 2.5" exhaust, the 3.5 is going on it this Friday hopefully. Had some fitment issues on the install.
