Junkyard? Did you know a caliper can be rebuilt? That is why Napa sells rebuilt calipers. You unstick it by opening up the bleeder. In fact, sometimes parts stores will do the rebuild if they have a machine shop attached.

Yes i know calipers can be rebuilt. Since i've already opened the bleeders and tried to force the piston out with an air compressor, i don't see what your version of the repair is. You do know that if i WAS going to have a caliper rebuilt, it would make more sense to buy a burlier, more powerful one and swap them out, since i'm going to be paying for a rebuild, and removing the old ones from my car anyways, right? Whats the point of repairing these and pulling them out again down the line when i can handle everything in one go and lower my garage time?

BTW, hvyman i thought you stole my profile pic. lol I was proud for a moment. :*(

I THINK, it has to be the 4 wheel disk brake version with abs and not the ones with rear drums. I'll try and confirm it once I get a free chance.

It looks like the van has to have abs to have the twin piston calipers, however I can't seem to confirm if the van needs to be four wheel disks or not.

I thought all supercharged or sport package versions had them?

Let us know when you find out!

Here's the original thread: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28815

They don't seem to rule out the option of them being on abs previas with rear drums, nor confirm it.

My napaprolink shows that the twin pistons are available for the front with rear drums if there's abs, but I'd only trust napa's listings so far.

Perhaps a certain rouge Toyota parts robot/encyclopedia could chime in to where I have faltered to.

Looking at the information on the piston sizing in the original SF thread compared to the SM thread they're saying the dual pistons have less area whereas buddy who measured it on SM said it had more area.

VS

However on SF they didnt post the actual measurements just that the twin piston was 3/4 square inches less, so it could come down to a mathematical error perhapse.

I dont see how you would notice a difference going to a 2 piston rear caliper, more chance getting a brake bias adjuster.

They have sets on eBay all the time of the cobra rotors and calipers for 300 sometimes you can find drilled and slotted too

Its a 2-piston front, rear remains stock.

Also, I would never buy ebay brakes. -poor quality

So a stock factory cobra caliper gets bad quality cause its off eBay?
I was talking about a set of cobra calipers and name brand rotors that are used, some people sell there front kits when doing a big brake kit.

I should have been more specific.

ebay - noname brand parts are what you want to be aware of.
Private sellers with legit parts are definately fine to buy.
