when the square one arrives, I will post pictures ;) can't just have a picture of a plain manifold and no engine...with that said I've never seen any square type FFIM on supras.

The orange car from Final stage (Tony) has a square one. And if my eyes don´t decive me X-men on here also has a square intakemanifold on his yellow beast. So performance wise it sure doesen´t seem like a square intake is a bad idea.. :)

I like the way the round looks but I can't tell you how many square IM's ive seen on turbocharged racecars. I dont know how they differ from a flow standpoint, but they're usually pressurized with upwards of 40psi of boost. Something tells me air will find its way to the cylinder regardless.

Yea that is why I was looking at the square designs. When I was at PRI this year I saw a number of them on race cars. For the volume you can gain it is worth it in my opinion. Not that you really need a bigger volume plenum, most people will never use either of those to the full potenial! I think once people see a square one polished up and in a a car they might just change their minds! From a flow stand point I believe they will both flow as well, after all it is boost!

Thanks for the input guys keep it coming! May have to have a half bread made!

strange the drag cars ive seen on the 2jz's are not square at all. the intercoolers are but the intake manifold was like a big nitrous bottle on the side of the engine hehe. at least thats what it looked like on titans car when it was here in denver

i like ron r's manifolds

i dont have data to back it up but im sure its for the same reason water move faster and smoother through a round pipe,or the same reason air flows better through a round air ducts in more expensive ducts

The Compressed head of air in a plenum under boost is going to react very differently to the same volume of air flowing through a tube.

I'm not saying you're right or wrong just that if you're going to make absolute statements here you need to be able to back them up with something more than "I think".

Most of the square plenums ive seen on racecars are usually 4 clyinders. Ive seen them on v6's and v8's though as well.
