So it looks like i found what the squeak was from the lower part of my engine. Not rod knock (yes IJ.. lesson learned lol) but looks like the head of a bolt that was sheared from somewhere or place unknown..... was loose in the timing cover and ate/spun loose a metal ring behind the crank gear. You can see in the pic below. I placed the bolt up top the crank surface.

The teeth are fine and the shaft isn't scored to bad at all because I only drove a mile after this happened.

Anyways my question is... what is this part my finger is on that got damaged and what sort of job is ahead of me?

It's just a belt guide, swap in a new pulley and you're good to go once the Damper is torqued to 195ft/lbs. :)
Oh dang I was hoping to have her running by Sunday... This would be champion toyota 1 1/2 week shipping sort of thing wouldn't it?

Check out my breaker bar, 2 cracks and she was loose, epic!!!!

Yep. Do you run without an upper timing cover by chance?
No I just remembered I did break a bolt of that size at a time I was adjusting my shim clearances and it could have possibly fell in there.

Alrighty sounds good! Haven't done this installation before but from the looks of it rear timing cover off, and unless there's a certain gismo needed disassembly/assembly is obvious?

I come from a land down under
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

leave the front cover alone!!

The Pully should just pop off, might need a couple of screw drivers, be a good idea to throw a seal at it while you're in there.

You'll need to make a puller for that pully (not hard).

Also, a new pulley is cheap, and I had it in a few days. It's also an improved design.

I'll do that shit when i go back to upgrade internals. I got the balancer off my engine just fine with my hands and a rubber mallet although my other 180k part 7m is being a bitch!

How do you maker a puller?

I used a flat piece of metal, and two bolts. They need to be pretty long and the right thread pitch to thread into the holes in the pulley, and the metal bridges across the snout of the crank. Turn bolts, gradually pulling the pulley off.

Shouldn't use a mallet to knock a pressed item off...

Got the new pulley from my local dealer.
