unless i could get a section correctly shaped it wouldn't look right, and the plastic on the bumper is flexible. So i cut a repair section from a spare rear bumper i had.

I have this to play with as well.

so, you don't think fiberglass will work or you just arent good with fiberglass and it wouldnt work for you?

^ Why not use fiberglass?

Only use FG if the base material you are working with is FG. In the case of the factory nose you will want to use a flexible material or one day you'll be driving along and that piece will just pop right out.

To attach a new piece in place you will want to use something like this:
http://www.urethanesupply.com/mm5/m..._Code=URE&Product_Code=5003R10&Category_Code= - I used this to fill in the "V"s left over from cutting out the fins in the nose back in 2002 or something like that. They STILL look GREAT!

Once you get the parts in place you will want to smooth everything out and prep for painting. For this you will want to use:
http://www.urethanesupply.com/mm5/m...e_Code=URE&Product_Code=2000-C&Category_Code= - I used this for the same project as well as filling in the license plate dimple.

As was mentioned here before... the stock nose can be modified to take the "hump" off pretty easily as long as you have the correct materials.

Take your time and have fun.

Makes sense. And for that flexible filler product, whats the maximum thickness that stuff can go on? Could it be used to fill over the entire license plate indent or just to smooth it out after you put another piece in place?

I used just the flex filler on the license plate dimple. the trick is that you need something behind it - why it won't work on its own to fill in the "V"s - but the dimple already has a backing so you're fine there.

Apply it in layers though to build up the dimple and you'll be fine - let each layer harden first.

Build it up higher than the rest of the bumper so you can sand it all nice and smooth.

Oh yeah... rough up the dimple area pretty good first to give a solid adhesion.

I personally don't like working with fibreglass, But will if i have too, Also its rigid unless mixed with flexing agents like Shine Auto do, So bonding in a section of the same material works better for me,

I may have a play with that Nissan S15 bumper or sell it not sure yet.

any way the wind blows
It's too bad the opening starts to sag..

KeithH's reinforced opening is dope though.

Turbogate painted his grill black IIRC. Thought that was a cool alternative.
