Fresh rebuild. Coolant boiled on me.

My coolant boils after i shut off the engine. Fresh rebuild with....
Arp
mhg
H2o pump
Toyota thermostat and cap
silicon rad hose
All other hoses new
remote filter no cooler 10x11 going in next week.

even if i drive it out of boost and under 3k and idle for 1 min before i turn it
off it stills boils near the water neck. It comes out the cap and sucks back in when cold. If i squeeze the hose it makes a click noise like the thermostat is moving. Car runs good but at anything past 3/4 throttle makes no.difference in power but i do have ge cams. I have parked the car cause i dont want to damage my new engine. Ideas?

Have you put a timing light on it yet?

I did but i have a feeling its off. With the jumper wire the check engine did not flash. My cps wire broke so i cant check it till i do that.

Timing was at 0 degrees. Drives soo much better now. Should i worry about any possible damage? I drove it for 50 miles that way.:aigo:

Base timing at 0* will not damage the engine, however it will not cause the coolant to boil either.

Were you able to get the engine light to flash with the jumper in?

that was happening to gavin...its cause of the timing being off?

I was able to get it to flash this time. It gets pushed to about 3/4 up the bottle then once it cools its back at the full line. What else can cause my symptoms, anything i should double check?

Did you properly bleed the system? Park with the nose as high as you can get it, pull the radiator cap off, run at 2.5k RPM. Refill with coolant as necessary. If you still have air in the system, it will cause all sorts of interesting cooling system sounds. A proper system should self bleed, though.

Start checking for small leaks at every hose connection, even if everything is new. Even a pin hole that only allows coolant out under pressure will let air in (something has to displace the coolant) and cause issues. The boiling you hear is caused by air in the system.

How long does it take for the car to get hot

Like 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile shifting at 2500rpm.

Did you check for bubbles coming out of the radiator when you start it up, my car was doing the same and i nearly sold it because i didnt want to deal with it but i remember when i first got the car running there is a metal tube coming out of the egr cannister on the bottom of it and i just let it sat there and the car only overheated because my heater hoses were junk so i replaced them and the car ran great but i figured i needed to put that metal tube in the nearby rubber hose coming out of the fire wall but that was a no no the car over heated all the time, check to see if thats in there and if it is take it out and see if the car still boils

All hoses are new. Ive had no issues since retiming it.
