Found a SC300 2jz for $500, is that a good buy?

I paid $250 for a 2jzge with 130k on it w/harness, ECU, and all the accessories. I've seen plenty from $250~$500 depending on mileage, just find a MKIV NA or SC owner that's doing a swap, they're usually happy just to get the NA engine out of their garage...

They're seriously taking over my shop, I should make a building out of 1uz's and NA 2j's. Anybody who wants to drive is more than free to come pick one up for cheap in North Texas.

Going rate seems to be $500 at ABSOLUTE max everywhere I've seen, you can probably pick one up for $300 within a week or two of looking.

Looking back, that's probably what I should have done. Oh well, GTE electronics are bad ass.

A lot of the guys I know personally are doing 2JZ-GE NA-T swaps because it is so much more affordable. Also, USDM GE engines are smog legal in CA.

The only problem I could see would be having to drill the oil feed pipe for the turbo that is unless its pre drilled from the factory. I would assume like the 7M that turbo and N/A blocks are the same casting.

blocks are almost exactly the same, most people that make their 1jz 3.0 use a 2jzge bottom end and the internals will work. 500 is the average price for a 2jzge.... taken apart bottom ends range from 50$-250$ and the heads are even cheaper
