No and No....

Maybe if you look in the different DYNO-sections of common Supra sites, you may find a better answer.

Why do you bother answering? Nothing you say is ever technical whatsoever. ughhhh

Anyway, I have not seen one.
Supposedly there is a dude in FLA named Smiley laying down like 900+ whp on a stock motor and really simple fuel set up. But no one will ever get any info on it or pics or anything. So to me it is kinda like Bigfoot. I would need to see it to speak on it.

IMO , the motor should do just about anything a 2JZ could do. Its the same motor, except for the smaller stroke really.
People with the big HP usually put the 2J bottom end in because they want that displacement and easier to find bottom end parts for I guess.

Mehhh, same crap to me.

Well... seeing as you are buying a used motor.. it is quite possible that you may need to do some things to it... It depends on where you buy it as to how beaten it is... Replacing a few seals is a must in a 1jz swap.. but if you arent careful on where you buy your clip/motor then you may get a piece of shit.

In short... dont buy from any ole company on ebay.. there are a few companies on these very forums who can offer you a good quality clip/motor..

With all that in mind... to answer your question no I did not "rebuild" my 1jz upon install.

I didnt rebuild mine.
My compression was 185 straight across. No leaking oil or nothing. I do kick myself in the ass for not checking the turbos before install though.
They tend to be shit.

I did replace the clutch and found out when I toko the tranny off, it was a good idea, as it was rocked big time.
For shits and giggles I did the rear main seal and thats it really besides fresh fluids and new plugs.

Just do research and make sure the motor is tested by a trusted source.
Get from Jarco or Driftmotion and you will get a clean known to be tested motor everytime.
dont be cheap. if you are a typical MKIII owner, dont even bother as you will end up with problems.

I hear you bro. I already have a grip invested into the 7m. So I'm already prepared to spend more. I just want something that's going to give me about 500hp for know and when I'm ready build and go higher. I like the 2j and all , but to much is involved in that swap for me. I know that I would never want more than 800- 900hp so there is no need for 2j. I"ll probably never need that many ponied ether.

That would depend upon the condition of said used motor :p, but generaly a great idea to tear the motor down and forge it before shooting for the stars.

Becuase he is a fucking retard that worries about post count instead of actually answering questions. It gets on my nerves. Leave the bullshit remarks for OT sections or something. Since that is what he is good at.

I dont need to search. I have yet to date seen him post a single useful remark on either forums in the past 2 years.

Used motor with bolton's to make 600+ = hand grenade

I dont agree. but we are all entitled to an opinion I guess.
So you think MKIV guys are crazy making600-700whp on stock internals?
If it can handle it, why not
